I respectfully submit my case to you, leaving you to judge of its [justice?] and merit, hoping that it may not be deemed unworthy of your honorable attention, and with the assurance that I shall receive justice at your hands.

It may not be considerate amiss if I should add that the opportunity afforded me for acquiring the knowledge requisite to discharge in a proper manner the duties incumbent in a the position for which I ask has been very fine; and it has been my endeavor that it should not pass unimproved.
