Witnesseth, That the Said Penobscot tribe of Indians, in consideration of the payments by them now received of said Commissioners, amounting to four hundred dollars, and of the payments here by secured and engaged to be made to them by said Commonwealth, do hereby grant, sell & convey, release & quitclaim to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, all their the said tribes right, title, interest and estate, in & to all the lands they claim, occupy and possess by any means whatever on both sides of the Penobscot river, & the branches thereof, above the
