I was sorry to hear of poor Marys sickness but hope she will be better nowCharly and Hattie   I am glad they have got through with the measles. Leyman I was glad to hear so good a report from him. tell him from father to keep on being steady and a good boy  my handkerchief I have not got for that you [illegible] to the regiment and I do not know when I shall get it but I have a cloth that answers for me.  you spoke of sending me a box you had better not if you see any possibility of getting
