It is some time since I have writen to you I should have writen last sunday and would have done so but Laura and Nathaniel were here and I could not get a chance Arabine and Lyman got your letters this weeke and we were glad to hear from you I am glad you are getting along so well And I hope as far as your command goes you will look out for the good of the men under you, I have never mentioned any thing to you about your promotion but it's not them that says the most that feels the most.
