He is very popular in his co, likes them all and all like him and would not quit the army on any account. Now I think as he is so good a drill officer, having acted as lieutenant, and [ ] fatigue has had command of the co. that he would be of great service to a new company now forming. Doct Bradbury of Bangor urged him not to go then but wait and get a Capt commission, as Ive said he was fit for it, One so capable as he is and so popular could recruit very fast and when the company is formed would learn them more in a week than a green man could in a year. And then the whole Regt would be benefited by his knowledge.
