[page 113] Q. I take it he was put in there because he was violent and would tear his clothes? A. Yes, sir, excited. Q. Has there been any change? haven't radiators been put down? A. There is a little radiator in the hall. Can I be permitted to give a description of that lodge. Q. I wish you would. A. There are two of those that haven't any ventilators in at all. The hear comes by flues into the hall and from the hall passes over transoms or in through a little oblong cut into these rooms, passing out though the ^foul air flue near the top of the room. Sanitarians say- I want to ^be allowed to put that in. Mr. Pattangill: I dont think it is necessary Q. Say on. A._that such ventilation is defective; that rooms are not well warmed that way. The heat passing upward can not warm the lower part of the room. There has also been a steam coil put into the hall, as I said. Mr. Baker: I would like to know if you ever saw a room that was perfect? Witness: I have seen a good many rooms pretty nice.
