Agreeably to assignment made on Friday last the House proceeded on their part by ballot to the election of a Major General to fill the vacancy in the 1st Division of the Militia of this State — and on counting the ballots it appeared the whole number given in was 135 necessary to a choice 68 and that Simon Nowell had 73 and was chosen on the part of the House. The Clerk was requested to communicate the same by message to the Senate.
