In pursuance of an order of yesterday Mr. Nathaniel G. Jewett was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Senate.
[Chaplain chosen] Messrs. Wellington, Witham and Champbell were appointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the Votes for Chaplain of the Senate. The whole number of votes was thirteen[underscored], necessary to a choice Seven[underscored]; Rev'd. Elijah Kellog had Seven[underscored], and was declared elected.
[Notice] Messrs. Small, Whitney & Steel were then appointed a Committee to wait upon Mr. Kellog and inform him of his election.
