[84] [1822 Jan 18] [Petitions &c. committed] The following Remonstrances and Petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Towns came up for concurrence to wit - The remonstrance of the Selectmen of Bethel against the petitions for a new county by dismemberment of Oxford, Somerset &c also remonstrance of the town of Waterford against the same petitions - and the Petition of Edwin Townsend and others praying that part of the county of Washington may be set off to Penobscot - and they were severally read and committed to the same committee in concurrence with the House.
On motion by Mr. Bond ordered that the petition of the town of Winslow be taken from the files of the Senate and committed to the committee on Incorporation of towns - and that the Petition of the town of Avon be taken from the Senate files and committed to the committee on incorporation of parishes &c.
[Reports of Committees] Mr Bond from the Committee on New Trials, reported that leave to withdraw be granted on the following petitions - Wofford Durham and others petitioners Timothy Shaw do. Selectmen of Dexter do. Benjamin Smith of Eastport do. Phineas Wright and Dorcas Dill do. and Selectmen of New Portland - which reports were severally read and accepted and sent down for concurrence - came up concurred The petition of the overseers of the poor of Cape Elisabeth praying to be reimbursed expenses of supporting one Abraham Dolloff - a pauper - committed in the House to the committee on accounts - came up for concurrence - Read and concurred.
