136 [1823 January 21] Senate January 21 1823 [Petitions Committed] The following petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, came up for concurrence, viz.

Petition of William Young & others of Sullivan to be incorporated by the name of the Carrying Place Canal Company: Do. of Thomas Bartlett & others of Sunkhouse plantation for a Bridge across Great Works Stream; Do. of Jacob Oliver & others for a Bridge across Great Works Stream: and Do. of Samuel Quimby & others for a law directing David Greely & others to make a sluice way on the stream issuing from Parker's Pond; And they were severally read and concurred.

Petition of J. Wingate Jun. & others of Portland to be incorporated by the name of the Maine Manufacturing Company committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on applications for Manufacturing companies, came up for concurrence, was read & concurred.

Petition of Selectmen of Thomaston that the proceedings of said town may be recorded in the book of records, and the same made valid, committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on New Trials, came up for concurrence, read and
