Private William Grier Co K 2nd Maine Vols enlisted at Bangor November 9th 1861, was wounded at Gains Mills May 1862. (left leg amputated) Said Grier was sent to Bangor Maine shortly after the Regiment was mustered out and was ordered to report to Maj J H Gardiner who sent him U.S. Post Hospital at Augusta Maine where he has been up to the present date. He has been Discharged by reason of Surgeons Certificate of Disability.

Their Descriptive List cannot be found will you please inform us how it can be obtained - as his Final Statement cannot be made out until his full Descriptive List is found. He is now and has been for some months confined to his bed and without money
