Please find enclosed request of Adjutant Gen. to have my regiment filled up to the maximum. I think the men can be raised very readily[?] in Bangor &[?] vicinity. The Department desire that the men be uniformed by the State and that they be placed under d[?] office as own[?] as enlisted. I shall need about three[?] hundred fifty good men with as many musicians[?] as possible

I shall need about three hundred fifty good men with as many musicians as possible.
 
 
They will not need pack[?] coats[?] but a dark blue blouse[?]. I have the promise of Gloves[?] for the wh[?] regiment[?] in a few days. First Palmer would be a good officer to superintend the du[?] of the men & I would like very much for Mr. S.[?] B.
