Mr Jarvis has thought it best to Send Mr Bartlett to Quebec for pork[?] to go on the north[?] end of the Fish river road in consequence of the Stock at Fairbanks having been diminished in the manner it has been And until the other day I had no doubt we had twenty five or thirty barrells [barrels] there

I sent to Fairbanks for an account[?] which is not correct by his own showing but among other issues of pork[?] are the following for himself nine barrells [barrels] Barnard 7 barrells [barrels] Sawyer 19 barrells [barrels] total 35 bbls[?] or over one half of the whole besides there are ten bbls[?] not accounted for at all but he has omitted six barrells [barrels] we had to sent to Fish river making only 4 unaccounted for

Mr Hooper does not I[?] think intend to Sign any note or bond whatever I should like to have instructions from you what to do with him and Fairbanks

Col Jarvis wishes to have Capt Hines[?] Come up here and relieve Nye at Fish river as soon as he can He told me when I was in Bangor he would like to Come

Mr. Jos[?] Frantham[?] says he help cut[?] for Nathan & Lewis Johnson 1833 on No 12 5th range on lots now numbered 32 & 61 on about 75 acres of land 600 tons of timber in St Johns the best timber he ever saw was So think they could not hew[?] all of it on the ground

I cut some for Lewis & William Johnson about 100 tons on lots 4 5 & 11 on same Township Mr Can-James[?] with Buckmore cut in[?] same[?] [?] Bull & Campbell Christy & Currier[?]

I should think a thousand tons at least have been taken from that birth

[?] took about 400 tons off of lots 2 & 3 Hall & Beckwith & others got from 3 to 400 tons on lots 13 14 15 & 16

Hale[?] & [?] Benj[?] cut on 20 21 & 24 – 1833 also 24 25 27, 28 & 40 about 800 tons

Beckwith & Hale 1836 on 29, 30 & 65 got 600 tons

He says in 1833 16,000 tons went down at least

37 7,000 for 5 years average about 7000 tons

The reason that in 34 & 35 more was not done was because the govt of the Province issued proclamation laid duties &c
