An order came from the Senate for concurrence, appointing Messrs Dunlap & Fairbanks with such as the House may join, a committee to take into consideration the expediency of purchasing a sufficient number of the second volume of Greenleafs Reports of the decisions of the Supreme Judicial Court, for the use of the State - and the House concurred and Messrs Eveleth of Windham, Hathaway of Bluehill & Robbins of Union were joined.
The Committee of Elections made a report on the subject of the election of Walter P Carpenter from the district of Dixfield &c which was ordered to lie on the table until Monday next at 10 o'clock.
Remonstrance of Amos Parker & others against the election of Benjamin Webber of Sweden &c was read and referred to the Committee on Elections.
Ordered that so much of the Message of the Governor as relates to our primary schools & colleges be referred to the committee on Literature & Literary Institutions - read & passed - sent up for concurrence.
Ordered that so much of Governors Message as relates to depredations made on the timber of the State be referred to the committee on public lands - read and passed - Sent up for concurrence.
