[Convention to qualify the Governor elect.]

[Proclamation]

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses and in convention in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of qualifying the Governor elect, when Albion K. Parris came in and, before the Presiding Officer of the Senate, and in the presence of both Houses of the Legislature took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the duties of his office - Whereupon the Secretary of State made proclamation that Albion K Parris having been duly elected and taken and subscribe the oaths required by the Constitution is Governor of the State of Maine and to be respected and obeyed as such.

[Committee to inform the Gov' of the organization of both Houses]

On motion by Mr. Dunlap, ordered, that - Messrs. Dunlap, Green and Francis with such as the House may join to inform the Governor that both Branches of the Legislature are proceeding upon the public business, and are ready to receive any communication he may be pleased to make them. Sent down for concurrence, came up concurred and Messrs Fessenden, Riggs, Brigham, Johnson and Parcher were joined.

A message was received from the House concurring in the proposition of a convention for supplying deficiencies of Senators.

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in convention in the Representatives Chamber at half past three oclock for the purpose of supplying the deficiencies at the Senate Board: Messrs Stebbins, Churchill, Hodgman and White
