Mr. Butman from the Committee on Military Affairs, on an order instructing that Committee to consider the expediency of exempting the Militia, who perform military duty from poll tax, and also to consider the expediency of fixing the annual inspection on the first Tuesday of May, reported that Legislation thereon is inexpedient, Read and accepted, Sent down for concurrence. Mr. Stebbins, from the select Committee on the petition of Nahum Smith and others for the removal of the Judicial Courts in the County of York to Kennebunk together with the petitions and Remonstrances on the same subject reported that the Petitioners cause on attested copy of their Petition and order thereon, to be published in the "Kennebunk Gazette" three weeks successively the last publication to be , at least, four months before the session of the next Legislature, that all persons interested, may then appear and show cause, if any they have, why the prayer of said petition should not be granted.
