The Board came to order pursuant to adjournment
Bill to establish the Kennebec and Androscogin Canal Association, was read a first time and Friday next, 11 oclock assigned for a second reading, Three Hundred copies were ordered to be printed for the use of the members of the Legislature.
Order of the House of Representatives, that Messrs Burr, Hill and Howard, with such as the Senate may join, be a Committee to inquire and report what public business is necessary to be acted upon the present session, and when the Legislature may have a recess, was read and passed in concurrence and Messrs Scamman and Southwick were joined.
Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Stillwater Bridge came back amended, and the Senate reconsidered their former vote and passed the same to be engrossed as amended in concurrence.
Mr Dunlap from the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, on the petition of the Trustees of the Cony Female Academy, reported that the Petitioners have leave to bring in a Bill. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence Came up concurred.
Petition of Barnabas Packard and others for a revision of the Law respecting licenses to Inn-holders, was read and, in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on the Judiciary
