The Board came to order pursuant to adjournment

Petition of Seward Porter for Legislative aid was read and, in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on that part of the Governor's message relating to internal improvement.

Bill for the relief of school Districts in Bucksport and Orland came back from the House in a new draft, and the Senate reconsider their former vote and pass the same to be engrossed in concurrence

Mr. Williams from the Committee on State Lands, on the petition of John Neptune and Peale Mauly reported " Bill additional for the regulation of the Penobscot and Passamaquody tribes of Indians" and "Resolve respecting the survey of the Indian Townships", and the same were severally read a first time and tomorrow, 10 oclock assigned for a second reading.

Bill concerning Streets and Ways in Portland came up from the House was read a first time and tomorrow, 10 oclock assigned for a second reading, and, in the mean time was committed to Messrs Churchill, Pond and Dunn.

Agreeably to assignment the Senate proceeded to ballot for the choice of a Major General of the fourth Division. The Committee appointed to receive sort and count the votes reported that the whole number of votes given was - 18 necessary to constitute an election 10 Samuel Winter has - 10
