Letters were received from Daniel Wood, William Chadwick Jonathan Thayer and Joel Wellington Esquires Counsellors elect, signifying their acceptance.

Message from the Senate by Mr Low their Secretary. Mr Speaker, The Senate propose a convention in the Representatives chamber at a quarter past twelve this day for the purpose of qualifying such Counsellers [Counsellors] elect as have signified their acceptance, and also of coming to the choice of a Treasurer of State – and the House concurred.

Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of so far amending the laws relating to plantations, as to give them further powers in relation to boundaries – law agent – field drivers – tythingmen – Fence Viewers – Horses – Swine – Sheep and Goats – paupers so far as respects payment of other towns for expenses in supporting their poor, - record of births and deaths – fitting vacancies in plantation offices. & auctioneers. read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of modifying or repealing that part of the law relating to Banks which subjects them to the payment of two per cent a month to the holders of Bills after demand made. read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
