A communication was received from Joel Whitney Esquire Counsellor elect, signifying his acceptance.

An order came from the Senate directing the Secretary of State to notify Samuel Whitney that he has been duly elected by a convention of both branches of the Legislature, a Counsellor to advise the Governor in the Executive department for the current year, and request his immediate attendance, for concurrence, and the House concurred.

Bill to incorporate the First Baptist Society in New Castle, came from the Senate refused a passage – The same was read a 1st & 2d time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

The committee on engrossed bills reported as truly engrossed, Bill – an additional act respecting the United Marine and Fire Insurance Company in Portland, which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

A communication was received from Elias Thomas Esquire Treasurer of State elect, signifying his acceptance, and transmitting a Bond conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of the office - The same referred in Senate to the joint select Committee who have under consideration the Treasurers Report, came down for concurrence, & the House concurred.
