A communication was received from Samuel Whitney Esquire, Counsellor elect, signifying his acceptance.

Bill to prevent Drunkenness, taken from the last years files of the Senate, came from the Senate referred to Messrs Pond and Francis with such as the House may join – and the House concurred and Messrs Allen of Sedgwick, Chapman of Exeter & Tailer of Fairfield were joined

The committee to whom was referred the Bond of the State Treasurer, reported that the same is duly executed, that the Sureties are sufficient and that the same ought to be accepted. The House accepted said report in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill to incorporate the Portland Marine Railway, was read a 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill to incorporate the owners of Pews in the first Congregational Meeting House in Bangor – was read a 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill – to set off Cornelius Thompson from Bowdoin to Lisbon was read a 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill – to incorporate the Solar Lodge, was read a 1st & 2nd time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill to incorporate the Penobscot Lodge, was read a 1st & 2d time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
