On motion of Mr White of Monmouth, the House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House to consider the report of the committee on elections to whom was referred the Remonstrance of Elias Foss & others against the elction of Simeon Strout Junr, and after remaining some time therein, the Committee rose, reported progress and had leave to sit again.

And then the House adjourned until three o clock this afternoon.

Afternoon. Met according to adjournment.

The House again, on motion of Mr Boutelle of Waterville, resolved itself into a committee of the whole, on the unfinished business before the House at the time of adjournment this morning, and after remaining some time therein, the Committee rose and the Chairman thereof reported to the House that the committee of the whole House had agreed to accept the report of the Committee on elections that Simeon Strout Junior the member returned from Limington, was duly elected & was entitled to a seat in this House" – and the House accepted the report of the Committee of the whole – the question was taken by Yeas & Nays and decided as follows - [See appendix page 302] Yeas 89 Nays 24. - and the member returned from Limington was declared entitled to hold a seat in this House. -

Agreeably to assignment the House took up the consideration of the Resolve – designating the place where the next Legislature shall meet – and after some discussion of the subject and before a decision thereof the House,
