The joint committee appointed to examine the returns of votes for Governor from the several towns & plantations in this State, reported that the whole number given in was 21063 votes - necessary to a choice 10532 - that Enoch Lincoln Esq had 20689 votes and is duly chosen Governor of the State of Maine - that the votes returned from Bristol, Thorndike, Wayne, Denmark Dixfield, Charlotte, Alexander, Howland, Hermon, Canaan, Weld, Mount Desert, Starks, Dutton, & from the plantations of Appleton, No 7 Washington Countty, Thompson Pond, Fryeburg Academy Lands, No 1 - first ranger Oford County, No 2 first range Somerset County, & Sunkhase, for reasons stated in their report were rejected by the Committee - and the report was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
