State of Maine

To all Persons to whom these Presents shall come,

Greeting:

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Wiscasset, within and for our County of Lincoln, on the third Tuesday of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and twenty one, Daniel Berry, of a place called Patricktown, in our said County of Lincoln, was convicted of the crime of Larceny, for stealing an ox from Nathaniel Bryant, in the year, 1812, valued at thirty dollars; and thereupon by our said Court sentenced to ten days solitary imprisonment, and afterwards, to six months confinement to hard labor, in the County Gaol; a part of which sentence remains unexecuted: And he the said Daniel Berry has supplicated us for mercy:

Now Know Ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Daniel Berry, all that part of the punishment aforesaid that remains unexecuted; and grant to him the said Daniel Berry, a full and free pardon of the crime aforesaid: Of which, all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice:

Witness William D. Williamson, President of our Senate, exercising the office of Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, this ninth day of July, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and twenty one; and in the forty sixth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
