State of Maine.

To all persons to whom these presents shall come,

Greeting:

Whereas before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Alfred, within and for our County of York, on the third Tuesday of September A.D. 1827, and at the adjournment thereof on the second Tuesday of November, being the thirteenth day of said month in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven: David Burnham, of Waterborough, in our said County of York Gentleman, was convicted of the Crime was sentenced to be punished by confinement to hard labor for the term of eighteen months, within the precincts of the State’s Prison, situated in Thomaston in our County of Lincoln, a part of which punishment yet remains to be executed; and he the said David Burnham has humbly supplicated Us for mercy.

Now Know Ye, That upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said David Burnham, that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed at Portland, the twenty second day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight; and in the fifty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.
