[Returns of votes for Governor]
The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table the returns of votes for Governor given in the several towns and plantations of this State and the same were committed to Messrs Williams, Emery + Miller with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and Messrs Clark Neal and Sumner + Mitchell were joined.

Ordered that Messrs Kavanaugh, Sweat and Weston be a committee to draft Rules and Orders for the government of the Senate the current political year.
[Mode of drawing seats]
On motion by Mr Williams Ordered that the Secretary prepare Nineteen tickets with numbers corresponding with the respective seats at the Senate Board, omitting number nine, and permit each member to draw one of said tickets and the number borne on the tickets thus drawn shall designate the seats which the Members shall occupy during the Session.
