An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the committee on the Militia and Military affairs to inquire into the expediency of allowing compensation to Division Quarter Master, & the House concurred.
 
An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the committee on the Militia and Military affairs to inquire into the expediency of allowing compensation to Division Quarter Master, & the House concurred.
  
The House agreeably to assignment took up the consideration of the Report of the Committee on contested elections to whom was referred the subject of inquiring whether any person has been permitted to take & hold a seat in this House as a member thereof who is not constitutionally entitled to the same by reason of his holding any office of profit or honor under this State and on motion of Mr Allen of Norridgewock the report was so amended as to expunge all that part of it which relates to Lecheriah Leach & Allen H Cobb - The question was then taken on accepting so much of said report as relates to persons holding commissions under this State authorizing them to solemnize marriages and decided by yeas & nays in the affirmative as follows -viz yeas 127 nays 12 [see appendix page 253] The question was then taken on so much of said report as relates to persons holding commissions under this State as "Road Commissioners" & decided by yeas & nays in the affirmative as follows viz yeas 108 nays 29 [ see appendix page 257.

Sent up for concurrence
