Dear Col, As the Fovernor must be much occupied, I address mmt[?] to you in regard to such matters in the 20th Regt. I have had a great many ap-plications for staff appointments, + have taken some pains to look into their merits, and if I have any thing to say about them I would suggest the following, Mr. A. L.
