51 Tuesday January 15th 1828

A communication was received from Charles Hutchings, Jun signifying his acceptance of the office of Counsellor was received read and sent down. [Chas. Hutchings Jr acceptance of counsellor]

On motion by Mr. Hathaway Ordered that all Bills shall be presented to the Governor for his approbation & signature by the Secretary of the Senate after the same shall have been passed to be enacted, and all Resolves after the same shall have finally passed and severally received signatures of the presiding officers of both branches of the Legislature and a record thereof shall be made upon the Journal. [Order directing that Bills & resolves be presented to the Governor for his approbation & a record thereof on the Journal.]

On motion by Mr. Hathaway a message was sent to the House of Representatives proposing a Convention forthwith for the purpose of qualifying Charles Hutchings Jun Counsellor elect. concurred.

Petition of Joshua Carpenter that a certain sum by him laid out on a road leading from township No. 2 old Indian purchase to Matanawcook stream may be allowed him on demands held by the State against him referred in the House to Messrs Lord, Fogg and Waymouth came up for concurrence and the Senate concurred and joined Messrs Megquier and Parsons.
