On motion of Mr. Wells of Freeport Ordered that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so altering the Act directing the method of laying out and making provision for the repair of highways, that towns may be empowered to discontinue any town road or private way &c also to prohibit the Court of Sessions from laying out any town or private road when a majority of the inhabitants of such town are opposed to it - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
