An order came from the Senate - that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the (Expediency of ) situation of the tax on the town of Westbrook for the year 1827 with power to send for persons & papers & report their opinion thereon. - for concurrence &, the House concurred.

Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency so amending the law respecting the education of youth that every town or plantation in this State may if they choose have the same privilege at their annual town meetings in March or April of choosing school committees in the several school districts as is granted to the town of Bath - sent up for concurrence.
