On Motion of Mr Dummer. Ordered that the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals be instructed to enquire into the proceedings of the Kennebec Boom Corporation, whether said Corporation is not at this time exercising important powers injurious to the public and not granted by the act of Incorporation, and whether the Legislature under the authority of the seventh section of said Acts, should not immediately restrain or annul the powers and privileges granted them by said etc - sent up for concurrence.

On Motion of Mr Bronson. Ordered, that the Committee on Literary Institutions be instructed to inquired into the expediency of requiring of all Literary Institutions applying for aid from the State, who have previously received aid from the same, a correct statement of their funds the manner in which previous donations have been expended or vested, also the number of instructors the price of tuition and the number of students who may have received instruction as such institution the year preceeding such application and report by Resolve or otherwise - sent up for concurrence -

Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to consider the expediency of revising the law abolishing the imprisonment of honest debtors for debt, passed March 31. 1831. and of rendering the same as simple and intelligible as may be - sent up for concurrence.
