Mrs. Henry Beston Chimney Farm Nobleboro, Maine

Dear Elizabeth Coatsworth:

Isn't the English edition of THE ENCHANTED beautiful! We are amazed and delighted by the perception of the English illustrator, who has been able to capture the spirit of this lovely story so perfectly. · We are amused by the blurb which says that the "deep forest country of The Enchanted lies beyond" Damariscotta Pond. It does, indeed, many many miles beyond. Another especially interesting touch is the dedication to the MacDougalls. You a.re very kind to think of the Maine Author Collection by sending the inscribed copy of this edition. We might have missed it altogether, so we are doubly grateful to you. Sincerely yours
