86 to inquire what alteration is necessary in the law regulating the Compensation of the Inspector General of Beef and Pork. and also of his Deputies and such other persons as may be be [sic] employed in packing the same with leave to report by bill or otherwise - sent up for concurrence -

Ordered that the Committee on the Militia be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so modifying the law, that no more than one day's duty shall be required of the Militia in each year, with leave to report by bill or otherwise. sent up for concurrence

On motion of Mr Swett - Ordered that the Committee on Interior Fisheries be instructed to inquire into the expediency of amending an Act for the preservation of Fish in Penobscot River and Bay and the several streams emptying into the same and the several acts additional thereto, so as to make it lawful to take Fish in any of said waters on Saturday in each week between the 20th. day of April and the 12th day of July annually - Also to inquire into the expediency of further amending said Acts so that the duties of Fishwardens shall be limited and confined to the towns or districts in which they are appointed sent up for concurrence -
