Report on Petition of Benjamin Chadbourne and others __ of John Spofford and others __ of Nicholas Rideout Jr and others __ of Ezekiel Holmes and others __ of Benjamin Cole and others __ of Inhabitants of Fryeburg, Addition granting an order of Notice on each came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred -
Resolve in favor of Oliver Perkins was taken up and the House nonconcurred with the Senate in passing it to be engrossed, and recommit the same to the Committee on Military Pensions - sent up for concurrence.
A communication was received from the Clerk of the Courts in Washington County in compliance with an order of the 12th instant, which was read and upon motion laid on the table
On motion of Mr Sproule Ordered, that the Committee on the Militia be instructed to inquire into the expediency of exempting from Military Duty all persons over thirty and under forty five years of age except so far as to exhibit the equipments required by law, also to enquire into the expediency of allowing to officers and soldiers who faithfully perform the duties required a reasonable remuneration for their services and also to subject such officers to a fine for the nonperformance of duty with leave to report by bill or otherwise - sent up for concurrence.
