Agreeably to assignment the two Houses assembled in convention for the purpose of electing a Counsellor for Oxford District to supply the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Reuel Washburne - The whole number of ballots given in was One hundred & forty three - necessary to constitute an election seventy two - Levi Hubbard had ninety six & was declared elected.

Bill - granting a Lottery for the benefit of Edgecomb Bridge was read a second time & indefinitely postponed - The question was taken by Yeas & nays & decided as follows Yeas 62 Nays 53. [See appendix on page 323.]

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to notify Levi Hubbard of Paris in the County of Oxford that he has this been day [been this day] elected a Counsellor to advise the Governor in the Executive part of the Government for the current political year & request his immediate attendance at the Council Board & the House concurred.

Mr Mowry of Lubec has leave of absence after today during the remainder of the session.
