The aforesaid Private Sirois R Haskell was a private in Company D 2ne Maine Vols commanded by Captain J. S. Sampson , whose signature is there to affixed. Haskell is a strong man., very energetic,and a man of integrity of character, was taken prisoner at the Battle of Manassas and if exchanged,  we cheerfully and with pleasure recommend S.R.
