     March 26th  We received our sabers and revolvers to day. and drilled some with them on foot. it is a very pleasant day.  March 27th  Was a pleasant day we drilled to day. and I think we done pretty well.  nothing of eny interest has taken place to day. March 28th  avery fine day. I was on guard to day. drew me a pair of of pants in the afternoon it was pretty cool in the evening. nothing very new has taken place to day.

    March 29th  Came of guard this morning at 8 oclock. it is cludy and looks some like a storm. We received orders at noon to strike our tents and go to Harper's Ferry. we are to start at 3 oclock. at 3 oclock the orders are countermanded and we are not to start till to morrow morning  it is snowing very hard now. I sat down and wrote a letter in the evening to my mother. and another to a friend in August Maine
