at Bull's run were without foundation & gained credence through a misunderstanding of the facts. I write the foregoing at the request of Dr. H.

You will hear about our regiment by Col. Wilder. I think our sick list is as small as could reasonably be expected. There has been but a single death in the regiment since I joined the regiment. Our most serious difficulty has been a sore throat, to say the least, very much like "Diptheria."

Dr. Sanger of 6th is in great trouble but if you will not do right as to appointing affairs He wrote Rice a long letter upon the subject and talked very freely with Goodwin & others.
