57 Communications from Allen H. Cobb, Hezekiah Prince, Alfred Pierce and Samuel P. Strickland signifying severally their acceptance of the office of Councillors, to which they had been elected by the two branches of the Legislature in convention – came from the Senate and were read.

A message was received from the Senate, by their Secretary proposing a convention of the two branches to meet forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of administering the oaths of office to Allen H. Cobb, Hezekiah Prince, Alfred Pierce and Samuel P. Strickland Councillors elect – and requesting the concurrence of the House – and the House concurred and their Clerk by message communicated the same.

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses assembled in convention when Allen H. Cobb, Hezekiah Prince, and Samuel P. Strickland Councillors elect came in and took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of the duties of that office. And the convention separated.

A message was received from the Senate by their Secretary proposing a convention of the two Houses to meet forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of administering the oaths of office to Alfred Pierce Councillor elect and requesting a concurrence of the House – and the House concurred and by message their clerk communicated the same.

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses assembled in convention when Alfred Pierce Councillor elect came in and took and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the duties of that office. And the convention separated.

Petition of Kennebec Boom proprietors for an additional Act was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals – sent up for concurrence. Ordered
