     April 28th  Today I was on drill in the fore noon for abought 2 hours. I was on fatiuge duty in the afternoon. After supper we had a foot drill for abought 1 hour. it was a good exersise for us. There was a thunder shower abought 9 oclock in the evening  April 29th  Today it rains like Jehu[?] and I am on guard again but that is nothing. for it is my luck to be on guard when it rains like the Devil. It quite raingin abought 11 oclock and the sun came out and shone warm. received 3 letters to night from my friends in Maine. The countersign to night is Blair.

     April 30th  Came off guard this morning at 10 oclock. a very pleasant morning. the sun is shining beautiful and warm. we had an Inspection of arms this morning and we was mustered for pay. this makes twice that we have been mustered for pay and have have not been paid yet. in the afternoon I took a walk out in the woods abought one mile from camp did not feel very well for I have got a sever headack
