Bill - to legalize the study of Anatomy in certain cases was taken up and on motion referred to a select committee of this House consisting of Messrs Small of Limington, Pierce of Gorham, Underwood, Cartland, Lake, Comstock, Chase of Milton, Swett of Prospect, Carver and Carey.

Petition of the Selectmen of Winslow praying to be allowed for expenses in burying an Indian of the Penobscot Tribe - came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Claims, for concurrence, and the House concurred - sent up.

An Order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs. Boutelle, Scammon and Hunton with such as the House may join a Committee enquire into the expediency of raising the Salaries of the Judge and Register of Probate for the County of Kennebec - and the House concurred and joined on their part the delegation of the House from Kennebec - sent up.

Bill - prescribing the mode of making and repairing Highways, was taken up and amended as on sheets marked A,B.C.D.E, and F. and on motion of Mr Pierce of Portland, the House referred the Bill to the next Legislature and ordered it to be printed in all the papers which publish the laws of the State, and that it be submitted to the people at the Annual Meeting in September next for their
