Resolve, providing for the promulgation of the laws of the State, reported by the committee on the Judiciary; Bill additional to an act to incorporate the Penobscot mill dam Company, reported by the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals; Resolve authorizing the Land agent to sell public lands in Hancock and Washington counties, reported by the committee on State Lands were severally read once, and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Bill to incorporate the Livermore Hemp Manufacturing Company, reported by the committee on Manufactures, was read once, and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading. Resolve in favour of the town of Lincoln, reported by the committee on State roads was read once and recommitted to the same committee, in concurrence.
Mr Gibson from the select committee to whom was referred the petition of David Burbank and others, and petition of inhabitants of Thorndike, on the subject of retailers &c and also certain orders in relation to said subject, reported that Legislation on the subject is inexpedient, read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.
