A message was received from the House of Representatives informing the Senate of the decease of the Hon. Joshua Cushman a member of that Board from the town of Winslow in the County of Kennebec in consequence of which solemn and mournful event the House had adjourned. Whereupon the following preamble and motion introduced by Mr. Emmons were unanimously adopted, to wit; It having pleased the Almighty Sovereign of the Universe to remove by death, the Hon Joshua Cushman, a member of the House of Representatives from the County of Kennebec; and he having at different times received from his fellow citizens distinguished testimonies of confidence and respect, and the House of Representatives, from a regard to his services and worth having adjourned, I now move, that in concurrence with the House and as a testimonial of our respect for the deceased, the Senate adjourn; and The Senate accordingly
