A message was received from the Senate by their Secretary, informing the House that the Senate on their part had by ballot elected John Ruggles a Senator in the Congress of the United States from this State to fill the existing vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Peleg Sprague - and also that they had in the same manner elected John Ruggles a Senator in the Congress of the United States from this State, for and during the term of six years from the third of March next - both elections being in concurrence with the House.
