Bill additional act to increase the salary of the Register of Probate for the County of Penobscot, was taken up and considered and on motion of Mr Shaw of Wiscasset ordered to lie on the table

  Ordered that a joint special Committee to consist of one from each County in the State, with such as the Senate may join to inquire into the expediency of altering the time established by law for taking the valuation of property for the purpose of taxation from the first day of May to the first day of April - and Messrs Mildram of York, Bucknam of Cumberland Spear of Lincoln, Buck of Hancock, Mowry of Washington, Woodman of Kennebec, Noyes of Oxford, Spaulding of Somerset Chase of Penobscot, and Heagan of Waldo, Counties, with such as the Senate may join.
