Petition of John Wilson Junr to be compensated for performing the duties of Adjutant of the 4th Reg. 1st Brig. & 8th division was read & referred to the committee on Accounts. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Geo. M. Chase & others for a road, was referred in concurrence with the Senate to the committee on State Roads. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of John Burnham & others for a repeal of a law of February 23rd 1825 providing for a lock sluice &, was read & referred to the Committee on Interior Fisheries. Sent up for concurrence.

Order of Notice was granted on the petition of the Selectmen of Brunswick & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

The House resumed the consideration of the order moved by Mr Holmes of Alfred on the 12th inst. calling upon the Governor for information in relation to the Northeastern Boundary - The question before the House being on the amendment moved by Mr Jarvis of Ellsworth on the 22nd instant - after further discussion the Previous Question was called for by Mr Jarvis & the call was sustained by the House -The question "shall the main question be now put" was then put by the Chair & passed in the affirmative - The question on the passage of the order moved by Mr Holmes, was then put and decided in the negative by yeas & nays as follows - Yeas 61. Nays 100 [See appendix page 367.]
