    In case the Detachment should be required to march, the Major-generals of the permanent Division will appropriate such part of the Field artillery within their respective Divisions, to the use of the Detachment, as shall be proportionate to the number of artillerymen - and in that case, the Major-generals will form the cavalry & artillery into squadrons & battalions.

    The Major-generals are authorized to accept of any legally organized corps of cavalry, artillery or infantry as part of the Detachment; provided they shall voluntarily engage as an entire corps in the service.
