Two Companies from the other part of our Rigement come here to night with our Colon to see if he could git the Companies all togeather one more. I was glad to see the boys in the other Companies

  We was arowsed up this morning at 3 oclock with the word to saddle up soon as possible and form a line of battle for our Pickets have been driven in by the rebels but we came back to Camp in a little while

and I guess it has been a false alarm. it is raining this morning and looks like a rain storm. At 2 oclock in the afternoon I went on guard.

  I am on guard to day. we are still in the same place that we have been for the 3 past days. I received a letter from home to day and one from a friend in Salon

July 12th

  I came off guard this morning at 6 oclock and came to Camp. We started again this morning to Warrington about 20 miles from where we was Camped. we are now with the rest of our Rigement. This has been the first time that we have been togeather since we left Washington.
