48 Battle of Rappahanock Station Nov 4th We lay in camp. Nothing new 5th All quiet for two days 7th At 4 oclock in the morning the bugle sounded for reveler. Orders came to move at 6 oclock. I having a lame foot could not march in the ranks so I stum-bled along as well as I could. I came to Bealton Station and heard canonading in the direti-on of Kellys Ford. The troops were all ahead of me so I pushed on as fast as I could. Soon the ball opened at the rappahannock station. On a short time I could hear the musketry. That morning a detale was on picket from our brigade so they moved out in front of the line of battle as skirmishers. I expected our regt was in the fight, but none was in except the skirmishers. Two of my company was wounded. Jospeh Winslow slight and staid with the Co. Seth McGuire in the leg breaking a bone.
